Education policies and right to education in India– An overview

Abstract
Governments all over the world play a major
emphasis on education policies. There is a global pressure on increasing
attention on the outcomes of educational policies and their impact on social
and economic development. However, there is often a lack of understanding of
how educational policies are formed and what constitutes an education policy.
An attempt is made in this Article to analyse the nature of educational policy,
basic features of education policies, the intended outcomes of these policies
and its impact on right to education of children. The main objectives of this
article is to understand the significance and meaning of Education Policy; To
describe the developments in National Policy on Education; To discuss problems
of implementation of National Policy on Education and to Appraise the
importance and features of the RTE, 2009.
